Hoehne You'll want to be sure to enjoy the following which are all within a short drive from the Kekaha Sunset Cottage: WAIMEA CANYON - KOKEE STATE PARK Travel up the Waimea Canyon to Koke'e State Park and visit Koke'e Natural History Museum where you will find a display of flora, fauna, natural history of the area and collections of shells and Hawaiian artifacts. If you like to hike or just take a short stroll, this area offers numerous hiking trails and scenic viewpoints where you will encounter some of the most breathtaking scenery in Hawaii. POLIHALE STATE PARK & BEACH A few miles to the West of the Kekaha Sunset Cottage is Polihale Beach and Polihale State Park where you can walk along the shore for a view of the South End of the Na Pali Cliffs. The miles of white sand beaches and crystal clear blue water are breathtaking, but so is the sand during the heat of the day. Make sure to wear your slippers or shoes to cross the sand to the shoreline. Don't forget to bring a picnic lunch and drinks and of course the camera! There is theatre in Waimea Town to catch an evening movie as well as a handful of local restaurants. The resort area of Poipu is just a short drive from the Kekaha Sunset Cottage if you are interested in Golf and shopping. There are tennis courts within walking distance from the vacation rental as well.
