 Coastal Kayak Touring Company was founded in 1999 with a passion for
kayaking and coastal ecology. Our interest in kayaking was born at
Project U.S.E., an outdoor education organization in New Jersey. Through
a five day tour we lead for youth at risk, we discovered the Outer
Banks as a “paddlers’ paradise”. A year later Coastal Kayak was born.
Since our inception, we have gained the status as
the Outer Banks’ premier kayak touring company. We achieved this status
through our commitment to service, ecological education and new tour
development.
Coastal Kayak Touring Company is partnered with
North Beach Outfitters in Duck, North Carolina. Our waterfront store is
your place to shop for a new kayak or reserve your customized tour. Come

Coastal Kayak tour reservations can be made a number of ways. Stop by North Beach Outfitters in the Duck Waterfront Shops to make reservations in person or call 252-261-6262 or 252-441-3393
to make reservations by phone. Please call to make reservations if
within a week of the tour date. Reservations can also be made by filling
out and submitting the Online Reservation Form below.
Coastal Kayak Touring Company also requires tour participants to complete our Release of Liability Form.

Kayak RentalsWe have a large fleet
of kayaks and canoes, singles and tandems, sit-on-tops and sit-ins, of
all shapes and sizes to meet your individual needs and preferences. Plus
a variety of accessories are available for rent in case you forget
something.
Best of all, you can get right into the crystal clear
water at the head of the Bay without the inconvenience of hauling or
lugging your craft to the nearest shore. We offer free orientation and
safety tips for newcomers so you won't feel like you've been "left up
the creek without a paddle."
Guided Kayak TripsAnd
those who prefer a guided trip are in for a real treat! We offer
eco-tours, guided snorkeling, and kayak fishing trips that have earned
us a five-star rating by customers and travel editors.
During the
summer scallop season, our guides will teach you where and how to
harvest this delicacy. You will also find that kayaks are the best way
to reach the lush grassbeds without harming our fragile eco-system.

What to bring:
Water, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, towel, change of clothes, water shoes (flip flop like shoes are not recommended), snacks, waterproof camera, snorkel and fins for Spring fed rivers.
